“Soft-tissue sarcoma is the generic name given to types of cancer that affect the connective tissues in our bodies: muscle, nerves, blood vessels and fats. They can develop anywhere in the body but are often diagnosed in the extremities (arms and legs).”
Around 4 in 10 (43%) soft tissue sarcoma cases are diagnosed in people over 65 years old. There is some positive evidence that cannabis can be used to treat cancers of the soft and connective tissues, but no human trials as of yet. Cannabinoid Receptor 1 (CB1 receptors) is a potential drug target for treatment of translocation-positive rhabdomyosarcoma – a common type of sarcoma.
